Description
Bas Spijker is a young man who has been providing humanitarian aid on the front lines since the start of the war in Ukraine. He literally goes beyond his own life to improve the lives of civilians. He single-handedly delivered hundreds of thousands of euros in donated goods to the front lines. Bas founded Dutch Civilion Action and now has an organization of volunteers in the Netherlands and Ukraine who work together.
After hearing his unique story, I captured him, his vulnerabilities, and his statements on canvas. A work of art full of raw emotion. The work has been exhibited several times to reinforce Bas’s story.
