Painting and drawing form a central part of my practice. Working with ink, charcoal, bistre, gesso, oil stick and paint, I explore portraiture as a way of approaching personal and collective histories.

The works often begin with a face, an archival image or a fragment of a story. Some develop into larger series; others remain individual works. Together, they trace recurring questions around identity, memory, inheritance and belonging.
