Description
In this expressive work, power and tranquility merge in a mysterious portrait of a woman. The blue-green color evokes an almost otherworldly serenity, while the straight lines in Indian ink give the face structure and direction. A golden lotus flower shines on the forehead: a symbol of inner growth and purity. The addition of gold paint and gold leaf reinforces the spiritual character of the work, which balances between the earthly-material and the meditative. The subtle spots and splashes of splatter and ink give the composition depth and a sense of timelessness.
Nine small variations Mini Azzurro have been made of this work (20×20 cm), framed in a wooden box frame. Each work costs €150, of which €50 goes directly to Dutch Civilian Action, a foundation that is committed to citizen aid in crisis situations. It is also wonderful to combine several works into one powerful whole.
