Description

With Unseen, Seen, Eva Margaretha shifts the gaze. This portrait marks the moment when attention emerges when a child is no longer part of a system, but is perceived as a human being.

By bringing children out of the shadows and into the light, Margaretha touches the core of transgenerational transmission. What is seen, acknowledged, and felt no longer needs to be passed on unconsciously. In that attentive looking lies the possibility of interruption. Here and now.
